About Sophie

Sophie Augusta Rusnock took up the harp as a teenager in Ottawa, Ontario, under the guidance of Juno Award nominee Caroline Léonardelli. She immediately fell in love with the instrument, and her passion would eventually lead her to complete a Bachelor of Music degree in performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Sophie has made an impression both as a soloist and as an orchestral player: she has performed with a wide range of ensembles including the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, and New York-based new music group Ensemble Signal.

In 2016, Sophie began pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Toronto, while continuing to practice and perform music at every opportunity. She currently divides her time between Ontario, Canada, where she is a practicing pharmacist, and State College, Pennsylvania, where she performs and records as a harpist and shares her household with her brilliant spouse Deepit and their beloved dog Hopper.
